Rafting the Vltava

For those of you that don’t know, rafting on the Vltava is a big BIG business in Cesky Krumlov.

The river’s long, lazy, winding path makes for quite a relaxing trip.  You can spend hours just floating down the stream, or paddle your way into the olympic record books.  The choice is yours.

On a recent trip to Krumlov’s castle, I spotted this little rest stop for the kayak and canoes:

There are a few large raft rental agencies, so organizing a rental is easy.  My favourite is a new, smaller company that primarily operates a shuttle service.  Their small size lets them customize your adventure.  Tell them what you want and they’ll design a trip just for you!  Pavel and his staff of drivers at Czech Shuttle are the best in the region.  Be sure to mention the “ThatsMyCoffee” blog for a discount.
